13 of us from Somerville journeyed north to beautiful Ogunquit, ME. this past weekend to see Lori and Mark perform at Jonathan's Resturant. After a $600 dinner tab we went upstairs and let Lori know we were there. The show was fantastic!. Our table was right in front of the stage. I brought (6) people who had never heard Lori before and they we all amazed. It was an accoustic show( no back up band ), but Mark's phenominal mandolin playing made up for the lack of added guitar and bass.

Thrilled, But Disappionted, and Now Thrilled Again
I was thrilled when Lori's new CD "Unglamorous" came out, but I was somewhat disappionted to find that one of her new songs "Make Every Word Hurt" hadn't found it's way on to the CD. I gave the new CD a quick once over and heard 2 or 3 songs I liked then sort of disregarded the rest of the CD. Last week I listened to the whole CD again and "low and behold" I found 3 more nuggets I had missed.
"Confetti", "Drinking Problem", and the amazing "How To Survive".

Thrilled, but disappointed
The first time I heard Lori McKenna sing was on a duet with Eric Gerber. The song was called " Boston By Friday". I was mezmerized by her voice and the lyrics in the song. I spent almost a year trying to track down how to find the CD it was recorded on.
I finally got the CD from the guy who owned the recording studio in Sudbury where it was recorded. I bought 5 copies and turned on some close friends. Those 5 and many more of my friends are now rabid Lori McKenna fans.I saw her 4 times last year and one time I brought 10 people to see her.
